I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the most fun I’ve had in months.
The new @RitualsZine just arrived and it’s beautiful. (Artwork by @lazcorp, Alex Tacik, @louisa_albani and @MariaStrutz.)
17/31 LA BELLE ET LA BÊTE (1946)
A beautiful woman takes her father's place as the prisoner of a Beast and ends up falling for her captor.
Cocteau's dreamlike adaptation of the most gothic of fairytales is full of mystery and desire; dark and weirdly erotic.

6/31 QUATERMASS AND THE PIT (1967)
Work at the London Underground uncovers ancient skeletons and an alien spacecraft with a dormant energy that could destroy humanity.
Nigel Kneale's compelling classic blends sci-fi, archaeology, horror, and folklore.

13/19. I wanted the content to be accessible, with an academic flair, and unashamed of its love for popular culture. A perfect example of this is @ruthheholt’s wonderful piece on Hammer’s ‘The Plague of the Zombies’ in issue 2.

12/19. If you look closely at the design of @helleborezine, you’ll see how it references pulp art from the 60s and 70s, Czech and Polish film posters, Victorian/Edwardian imagery, and the spirit of the first zines. It’s grainy and murky, yet polished.
