8) Prepare and bring your own food to uni/work/on trips. I usually cook in big batches so I can eat from it for 2 (or even 3) days. Sandwiches are always handy! Also bring your own bottle of water or thermos bottle for coffee to avoid to go cups.

7) if you have a weekly market in your city, go!! Support local farmers, buy regional and seasonal products. It brings more life and variety into your kitchen. Bring your own basket and bags to fill them!

5) buy second hand! not only clothes, but books, houseware etc. e.g I found a beautiful high quality french press and coffee grinder on ebay. It takes a bit of time to find good stuff but once you do, it´s so worth it (and your wallet says thank you)

4) save the water you wash your fruits/vegs with and use it to water your plants.

3) if you have the opportunity, go to zero waste stores and fill your own containers with staple food such as oats, beans, nuts, spices...also try making your own hummus, nut/oat milk, it´s more affordable and yummier :)

2) use body soap and hair shampoo soap to avoid plastic bottles. I buy mine in a vegan soap manufactury store in Berlin, but I´m sure you can find them online or in organic stores!

1) Use cotton nets for loose fruits and vegetables and a bag for bread from the bakery (saves a lot of paper bags). The bag also helps keeping the bread fresh.
