Mainly because almost all of my characters used to wear mf hoodies because I can't draw proper clothing 😭
Also, I still can't draw anatomically accurate hands, but it's pretty fun either way.

I tried making Nyx and I think it turned out pretty nice and actually accurate to the design

The fact that they have weapons is story related, not because they like to carry them around
