Today in 1827, William Blake (probably my favourite painter/visionary nutter) died. This was the deathbed scene, as recorded by a friend who was there:
And the Lord said, "It is not good for a hobbit to be alone. I will make a companion for him."
'He said He was going to that Country he had all His life wished to see... Just before he died His Countenance became fair. His eyes Brighten'd and he burst out Singing of the things he saw in Heaven.'
