I sometimes see pics where the artist has, like, dumped an entire Swatch Library on top of their piece for some reason (like this 👇) . I know WHY they're doing it, but I'm not sure they know why they're doing it, because if they did they wouldn't do it 😅

Both these pics use the same base colors for Ayane's skin, eyes, and hair. Black is the only color I use for shading. I highlight with white. They end up looking different because of the colors/lighting/effects I layer over them, and how much opacity I use for the black.
