Bad/poorly executed art is definitely a thing, and the fact that images aren't literal isn't really an excuse to draw like shit (unless that's what you're going for, like that time I tried drawing Vegeta with my left hand)

Burne Hogarth's "dynamic figure drawing" and "dynamic anatomy" are excellent books though. It's where I learned *a lot* about figure drawing.
