And another comparison: Zindra in 2018, when I'd only just started colouring in Photoshop, vs Zindra in 2020
I also want to show the progress I've made using a Wacom in the past two years. There's something about the older style that I still like, but I've definitely improved.
The best drawing of Hobgoblin Gargon I've managed so far. This is a character I invented in primary school (can't even remember what age) and he's coming with me into my first novel. I'm also tiptoeing into drawing environments instead of just lonely blank BGs. #characterdesign
Tonight's #art. Left: based on a photo I took at Gordale Scar, Yorkshire. Practising scenery because I've never been great at it. Right: a quick portrait of my WIP's MC, Vengor. The ear is waaay exaggerated. In the book, they're probably only slightly longer than most people's.
Wо̄den Wanderer appears! The old Germanic god is folded into my story as one the Green Man's many aspects. #fantasyart
So, then I look back and see how far I've progressed, and remember that when you stretch your focus across a bunch of different skills, that progress can happen pretty slowly in some areas, but it still happens. Anneth the witch in 2015 vs 2018 vs 2020. #drawitagain #fantasyart
It's too late for Halloween 😢 but... but here's how I spent it. (That witch hat ain't canon. She doesn't wear a hat. Anneth's hair blows free. Also, I don't know if they have pumpkins in Esdrig. Fruit and veg distribution hasn't been covered in my worldbuilding exercises.)
@sissons_heather Anneth is an excitable witch and immediately accepts. She drags a reluctant Vengor behind her. He ends up enjoying himself.
