Oh this is getting interesting! Doing some more research and there's a collision map and a regular tile map for the final rendered sprites to overlay! It looks like the collision map was used to get a Z position of Mario, or some representation of that. Iiiinteresting

Star pics!! with my galaxy phone I just use the Pro photo mode with ISO set to 400, a 10 second shutter speed and focus set to infinite! I've had best luck with a delay timer or vocal shot triggers (shoot! cheese!) to keep from shaking the phone
