I've been researching the types of armour that would make the visual difference between friend and foe in a medieval European-style world. I thought platemail was functionally superior to chainmail or scaled armour, but it may depend on the situation.

I'm looking into naming systems to create a medieval Scandinavian-like worldview, but it seems that customary is to take the most recent father's or mother's name instead of the surname. In my game's protagonist, her father is Dagfin, so she's Freyja Dagfinndotter (~'s daughter).
