I've met Herb Trimpe and got a commission from Sal Buscema a few years. In fact one of the best commissions I ever got was I won a commission by artist Mark Buckingham. Reading comics was an escape for me and the Hulk got me through some bad times.

Happy birthday to John Romita Sr one of my all time favourite artists and it's possible I wouldn't have got into comics without his brilliant art.

So.. here's the four comics I reas when I was fourteen. @JimLee & Chris Claremont were working on X-Men, Marvel UK were reprinting US Spider-Man titles, I'd discovered the Rocketeer thanks to the film and Peter David & Dale Keown introduced the Smart Hulk.
