...We could never
conjure a God
whose waves buoy us...
He drowns us in love
and drenches us in hope
drawn from the well
of his own being...
However much
the darkness encroaches,
keep your imaginary heroes.
They've got nothing
on our God.

Happy Book Birthday to me! Help me welcome GLORY IN THE MARGINS into the world! It's been a long time coming.
On call for jury duty this week. Don't imagine I'll be able to concentrate much, so I've decided to use this week to play with new poetry forms. And maybe do some card-making. And read! And plan book launches for Glory in the Margins! My week is full.
My webmaster just asked if I had any forthcoming books. Guess what showed up in my mailbox today? Coming in August!
January will soon be here! That means the release of Off to See the Sea is right around the corner. Have you preordered your copy to enter the sweepstakes? There's still time! I'm getting rather attached to these puzzles, though...
Rode to Conn. this morning, following last night’s book launch. Visited Francis Maloney High School in Meriden. After the presentation, I signed a book or two!
Charles White at LACMA. The sheer strength of his work is monumental. Just look at the hands! And have you ever seen a more stunning portrait of Lincoln? I think not. It was only one of two portraits he did of a white subject.
