In Chinese folklore people who are greedy in life become E Gui, ghosts that are always hungry, with mouths too small to satiate their hunger. Since I want a more naturalistic look for my interpretations I used some primates for inspiration in this #MythicMay piece.
The #BakeKujira are ghosts of whales killed by people, lurking in the Sea of Japan. I was inspired by bioluminescence and transparent deep sea fish, I think they make great spectral creatures. #MythicMay
I decided to take a less traditional approach with this #Quetzalcoatl I did for #MythicMay. I thought of a creature that could inspire such myths and ended up with this cross of an archaeopteryx and Knysna turaco.
#ShugMonkey for #MythicMay! In the folklore of Cambridgeshire this creature is said to haunt Slough Hill Lane. It's described to have the body of a shaggy black sheep dog and the head of a monkey with huge shiny eyes. My brain just registered "huge shiny eyes" and went "aye-aye".

Absol is one of my all-time favourite Pokémon but I don't draw it nearly enough. The first I saw it as a kid I thought it was an ice type and I have associated it with ice ever since. This fluffy beast warns people of avalanches in mountain areas.
