Look—Greenland and Antarctica are not island chains, they’re each one solid landmass. Elevation maps are deceiving because they don’t account for the HUGE weight of the ice caps depressing the land underneath them. Remove the ice and that land will rebound above sea level.
imagine fucking up with a lantern in your barn so bad that you not only cause one of the most infamous fires in history but the city also later tears down your property to turn it into a firefighter’s training academy with a plaque commemorating your fuckup
