thinking about the Guy In Love With Your Dead Dad archetype lately

classic hm shuffling around characters is one thing but the fact that these two are different characters from completely different games much later on....they can't keep getting away with it!!

lyla is not to be confused with lillia (popuri's mom) who only occasionally moonlights as a pink flower girl. and lillia is not to be confused with liz (nina's mom and therefore lillia's grandmother)

ann at least has never met any of her other selves whereas magical melody has both lyla and nina, the Pink Flower Girls of their respective games, as bachelorettes

sometimes these guys are ann's brother and cousin and sometimes they have no relation to her whatsoever. the old guy is always her dad though unless she's actually her own granddaughter in which case we don't know. sometimes he's a rancher and at other times an innkeeper

these anns are the same ann but this ann is a different ann. hope that helps ❤️
