Refactoring up my "brushes" today, and I've sped them up by over 3x. Each stroke is about 3k px high over a path with 1k points and 800 bristles. Takes just about 1 second to draw. Bonus glitches. #generativeart #wip
@elli0t_eth You’re welcome! Here’s a few better ones - the initial path is blue, then purple is more offsetting, and red in the final spline generated from the purple path.
The core algorithm is based off of the brush I used on “Raked Strokes.” It took a path and expanded it to create a basic rake or flat brush. Here, I’m extending these perpendicular to the path segment and preventing overlaps from previously created segments.
The painted style will always be color. There are 4 base path type: line, circle, diamond, and rectangle. The path is warped and then perpendicular lines are generated along it that usually don’t overlap. 50% that the path is drawn behind it.
There are 2 drawing styles, pen (75%) and painted (25%). Dark mode is 50% and monochrome lines for ink are 75%.
