The blue hedgehog is having another birthday, and I'm eternally grateful for his existance. Ever since I met him in 2005, I haven't been the same. The life lessons this franchise has taught me is something I will always cherish within myself.

Personally, I think there is a way to make the FF work in a more game-like continuity: make it a separate team from Sonic. They occasionally help Sonic, but aren't the focus. Also, no Sonally.

In light of the Carrey News: I think a recast could be pulled off, in case he indeed doesn't return.

Take an opportunity to make this a full blown “transition” from Robotnik to Eggman, make him game accurate, fat, round glasses, and everything.
