Got a little ambitious with the background because I've been in a bit of a sci-fi mood, and this guy definitely scratched that itch - Salvador "Grease Monkey" Santi for
@night_margie ! 🛠️ #artfight2020
Is that a rabbit? SHE'S GOT A GUN! Ashtrae the jackalope for @ChuckleKiddo, in both monster and classic flavors. Took this as an excuse to mess around with a sample texture pack I got not long ago. Also if I don't get a dose of Vitamin B(un) my fingers atrophy. #artfight2020
Oh #faceyourart is going around again? NEAT! I needed a meditative task today. Here's some of my favorite faceybones of 2020 thusfar, three of of which squares contain characters that are not mine, and are from AF/comms respectively.
Been wantin to draw some Hogarth Hangedman fanart for awhile anyway & #artfight2020 gave me the opportunity! Can't wait to see what horrible things happen now that these two are together, prolly somethin worse than walking through cactuses. Hogarth and The Teeth for @SlabMangrave
While I'm at it - I found out a character I'd drawn already was the (after)life partner of a character I was planning on drawing so I drew em together! Grave Digger for @junkyartd and Ectoplasm for @kettlebird. #artfight2020 🪦
Tellarius de Lascella, for @evilelvir. This is a sort of sequel piece to an illustration I did of the same character last year, who in the interim had a transformation from #tiefling to Pit-Fiend. #artfight2020
I've got a handful of more complex pieces on the burner but really needed to unwind with a simple, dynamic character that I love - Lime, created by Sirwoop(tumblr)/Ig(artfight). A Kuo-toa based on a barrel-eye fish, how cool is that? #artfight2020
@evilelvir YW! A different thing I used to do was basically the way I do digital paintings now but with more work LOL, by separating the "lines" (the ink) from the bg, and painting under as well as overlays on top. This is three inkwash paintings compiled together - foreground, middle & bg.
@evilelvir So, I used to have kind of a convoluted way of doing this - I would have my inkwash painting (I also used to paint elements separately and then compile them in PS) and then mostly use overlay & multiply to achieve colors laid over the inks. These things had sooo many layers.
A selkie for a @satourni - it's Kester! I've been wanting to do a half-underwater scene and seized the opportunity. #artfight2020
