14th of July is Arcade Archives Dragon Saber day!! Namco's 1990 sequel to Dragon Spirit. An excellent STG with an equally excellent OST

Dragon Blaze, Sol Divide & Strikers 1945 are now on the PS4 shop in Japan & the UK (so probably elsewhere too) Y990 / £7.39

I think the Switch ports turned out good after some fixes, so I'll grab 1945 soon unless I hear different

In a shock move that nobody saw coming (bear with me, I've not much to work with this week) the next Taito Arcade Archives release is 1984's Chack 'n Pop. A platform game where you can't jump but you can walk on the ceiling. I am terrible at this game

Next up for Namco on Arcade Archives is Thunder Ceptor, their 1986 2D sprite scaling rail shooter. Releasing on June 30th

I never saw this one in arcades so it'll be a new experience for me. Can't wait

Next week's Arcade Archives release remains a mystery, then it's Flipull but the 2nd of June sees the big Namco guns back out in full force with 1984's The Tower of Druaga. Learn the secrets of the tower as you scale 60 floors to rescue Ki

On May 26th Taito's 1989 puzzle game Flipull is coming to Arcade Archives. Flip your block to release other blocks from behind or below in order to meet the clear quota, or better yet, clear out all of them for a bonus

tldr, it's AN EXCITING CUBE GAME

April's Namco month may be over but not to worry as on May 12th their 1988 'pro tennis' game World Court is coming to Arcade Archives

As for next week's non-Namco game? We'll find out on Wednesday. Exciting times each & every week thanks to Hamster♥️

Last up for Namco month on Arcade Archives is Yokai Douchuuki. An action platform game from 1987

Apparently it was released overseas as Shadow Land but I never saw it in an arcade & only ever played it once on a friends PC Engine. Japan seems to like it

Happy Valkyrie day!!

Here's some coverage of the game's original release from 1989 from NG, Gamest & Micom BASIC magazines. She'll be returning within the next 24hrs thanks to Arcade Archives
