Ororo's reason why she never really tried to contact her family has already been hinted at years ago but never been explored further. So much exploration of her character could be done by exploring the pain attached to her losing her family

The Prelude To The Wedding Of The Century was the only time in the history of the character that writers have ever been interested in exploring Storm's family ties. Somebody should pick these threads back up and bring Storm's family back into her stories
