nobu’s said that when you learn why watteau is Like That then you’ll love him even more, which i assume means that he, like the real watteau, is sickly as hell and enjoying every day of his life with reckless abandon bc who knows if he’ll live to tomorrow

the business thing is most likely how a lot of the work we picture when we think of him (art nouveau style) is his commercial work (posters, ads, etc) rather than his personal work but since he wasn’t happy with that, i’m hoping they'll add his painting series about his country
