Incredible how Hughie is pretty much based on Simon Pegg in the comics, but by the time that The Boys got a live action adaptation Simon Pegg was too old to portray him so they casted him as the dad
@SeinRuhe I also do non pixel art. I'm purely digital and only do traditional for escapism from digital :D
My aesthetics can be summarized as a nightmare you are having while being intoxicated by a semi-rare metal ingestion all while sleeping with some slime over your face
It goes without saying that the third element is often either a secondary color or a non-color, incorporates both forces patterns in its design, or it is wildly different from both; this is usually reflected in its role in the story (think rayquaza floating over sea and land)
For the sake of equilibrium, it always naturally encompass a third element to the red/blue couple. This simple plot device just balances two wildly conflicting forces, almost following the hegelian structure of thesis, antithesis, synthesis.
DOESN'T stop at Boxarts! It's usually how the main themes get introduced in the games past gen 1. This, most times, works because it creates a compelling conflict that gets reflected in the aesthetics, even if it's just them wanting to sell as much games as they can.

POKéMON & The Conflict between Red and Blue
(design essay to settle the nerves)
First western pokémon release was Red&Blue, and since then, the titles have changed several times instead of adding a number like most games; however, the "Red vs Blue" is still carried in the titles

Those years spent on a project weren't just spent idling. That was a lot fleshing out in the shadows, and I would usually not leak much. And likewise, there was the growth of a person that would gradually feel detached to it. That wanted to tell new stuff, that wasn't as nice.
