Ashlyn and I recently celebrated our sixth anniversary together! We have a tradition of making paintings for each other, and I wanted to depict a moment where we’re doing what we love- sketching out in nature and spotting local wildlife 🐿️
Natovenator! Exciting newly described species of dinosaur that showed traits of being an aquatic pursuit predator.
#PortfolioDay Originally from Colombia, I’m currently a visual development artist at Walt Disney Animation Studios! Outside of work, I love painting the ruins of imagined worlds, and going back to my first artistic interest: paleoart!
A speculative scene where several adult T. rex are cooperating to take down an Alamosaurus. The two species’ range not just overlapped, but tyrannosaur teeth have even been found with Alamosaurus bones. Plus it’s just fun to paint these two giants 🦕 🦖 🦖 🦖
Some outdoor paintings done while visiting family in Florida! The humidity in the summer here really is insane, but at least it means everything is overwhelmingly green!
Looking for suggestions of prehistoric animals to paint! I loved hearing ideas a while back on what species to depict, as I’m way too indecisive myself!
A few more from that trip. All done in oils on 9”X 12” canvas board
Some recent paintings from a trip to Florida! Was fortunate enough to be able to go out painting in the mornings before work, and really found a new appreciation for my home state and its natural spaces!
I did quite a few exploratory sketches to settle on a composition with staging that I liked, and I'm including that one, plus the value comp and the color rough!
