2003: Fullmetal Alchemist, although the year had so many great shows too.

2004: My Hime is a great problematic fave I need to rewatch one day. Girls, girls loving girls, magic and giant robots

2005 was not a good year for anime. Anyway.

2007: I will never love an anime the way I loved Gundam 00. It’s effortlessly my favorite entry in the franchise.

I dont remember what I watched in 2010. Anyway, 2009 is Eden of the East and it’s amazing, self contained story that I would love to see a sequel of one day even if it doesn’t need it.

2011: Penguindrum, the quirky magical realism anime heavily inspired by Murakami’s “Underground”. One of my all times favorites.

2013: Samurai Flamenco is a treasure and you should all watch the slowest burn of a bemused cop and a model turned wannabe superhero fighting evil, aliens, and a lesbian idol group

2015: a really good year for mecha. A tie between Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans which destroyed my soul with its story about queer PTSD riddled war kids. And Fafner Exodus, which did the same. Cool robots, too
