Also just realised how much some of my works where inspired by the Faeries book ( Brian Froud/Alan lee ). Now I want to do more of these :)
To me Alan Lee is one of those quiet artists that somehow never got the exposure they deserved. He is for instance the co-author of many illustrations of the Faery book with Froud, and most of the time his works are the ones that convey more weight, authenticity and atmosphere.
of course can't post about Brian Froud without mentioning the Dark Crystal, one of my childhood best movie memory. :)

Love his epic scifi sceneries as well.. the read beautifully and are full of great details/story telling.
No need to introduce his iconic designs for Blade Runner ( 1982)
