Maybe its just me but I think people dont like it when you make this neat sci-fi series and end it with some big alien race that is predestined to destroy life in the universe. Its honestly a bit of a bummer.

The part where it gets dumb is when we find out in Dead Space 3, their ultimate goal is to wipe out all life in the universe. Which sounds about right for a series called Dead Space, but why do they have turn into giant ball of dead flash that turn into a moon? So dumb.

Skypiea is about as long as the Alabasta arc and it really shouldn't be. They have a lot of the same elements too. A country being controlled by a villain with a superiority complex and large amount of history that relates to the stone cubes. 1/3
