Araki's "puzzle room" approach to fights is a great thing for writers to pick up on. Big explosive fights with lots of screaming for 15 episodes can be fun, but it's also awesome to see somebody win by using their powers in a smarter way.

Oda's worldbuilding work in OP, whether you enjoy the story or not, is always worth mentioning.

In its 1000+ chapters, OP is constantly giving bits of worldbuilding. Every chapter or two delivers at least a tiny something that lets you know more about the world. Take your time.

Carrying off of the previous point, public domain characters and stories have a big draw. Neil Gaiman's A Study in Emerald is a story from an anthology that combines the world of Lovecraft and Doyle.

This list could probably be Neil Gaiman books alone if I wanted it to be.

The Graveyard Book is essentially The Jungle Book remixed with things that go bump in the night. Don't be afraid to take existing ideas and put the spin on them that only you can put together.
