East Blue is fine but I think the Mihawk fight around chapter 50 is the first like glimpse of something more visceral and interesting and touching and then the Arlong arc just comes along and kicks your ass. Still one of my all-time favorites.

Watching Lupin III media you never know what you're going to get. Tonight it involved a LOT about Alcatraz, Al Capone, Columbo, Machine Gun Kelly, Machine Gun Kelly's evil anime villain nephew, and ESPECIALLY the JFK assassination

I have my complaints but it's bold and weird and surprising and upsetting and charming and not like anything else, Lupin or otherwise. There's way more to it narratively and thematically but it's worth watching for art direction and music alone

(I'm at 14 for sure but also saw Dead or Alive 10+ years ago and don't remember it and skipped around Italian Game but didn't watch the whole thing)

I also like the classic Lupin theme, Tornado, Zantetsuken, Love Squall, Super Hero, Lucky, and a million other songs along with all the non-Ohno themes in the IIIrd stuff
