Which is, of course, exactly how Guile's name is written.
There's no other link between them, but we do know that another aspect of Guile was based on JJBA - his iconic haircut is taken straight from Rudolf von Stroheim, and that's confirmed.
Thinking about where the name "Guile" came from. It's not a REAL name, and it doesn't describe his character, so why pick that random word from the dictionary for him?
I can't say for sure, but maybe somebody at Capcom read Jojo and liked J. Geil's name - written as ガイル.
