The way it adds a tinge of melancholy together with the rough art style makes it my favorite manga in the SoL genre.

Have been reading the SAO novels lately (currently on vol 5). The illustrations are just absolutely gorgeous.

This is now my 3rd time experiencing SAO and it just reinforces what I've been thinking since finishing the anime: it's my all time favorite setting in fiction.

@violetheart08 Most of them were officially released on twitter by Dengeki or by shirabii on pixiv. The only one I did were vol 1 and vol 5 using these illustrations and a bit redrawing.
