Of all the primate fanged beasts, Garangolm is my favorite by far (sorry Rajang). He feels incredibly powerful, but the gentle giant theming is what really adds to his character. Apparently he tills the earth and encourages plant growth pretty much just by existing. Neat!

Vaal Hazak is a contender for favorite Elder Dragon because it rarely gets freakier than this. Gnarled, crooked claws, two sets of jaws, a necromancer theme and it sleeps under mountains of corpses. You can only do so much to biologically explain him away
