like sorry you can’t understand my weird girl and her autism swag but like that’s a you problem
I’d argue that Booster’s best stories tend to depicting him as knowing better, doing the thing anyways, and then having to live with his regrets. when you remove his sense of consequence, you have a version of the character with less nuance who just feels off.
also remember how in 2010 dc published a comic calling Romani people a “very bad people” who steal & kidnap and remember how DC let king & co bring it back in HT after it was rightfully ignored for years in favor of Toras original backstory that wasn’t blatantly racist
Bea being the heir to an absurdly wealthy family is the most consistent feature of her backstory. SO much of her character goes back to this, and removing it is just yet another example of how Tom King does not and seemingly cannot understand these characters https://t.co/MpL3CGQYkf
oh also while I’m talking about 80s comics here’s some secret origins #35 art
the most important thing for me vis a vis booster’s name is that, even before he legally changes his name, dude gets his superhero name because when asked his name, he panicked and answered ‘booster’ on instinct (BG #9)
