Just hit 2000 followers and I want to say thank you to everyone whos shown interest in my game. I started making games around 15 years ago as a hobby never intending to show my games to anyone besides my brothers so I’m really glad so many people are interested in what I’m making
What were your favorite indie games of 2021? Let me know in this thread, and tag the #gamedev if possible too. My top picks:
Cyber Shadow by @MekaSkull
Flynn Son of Crimson by @ThunderhorseCO
Cathedral by @Cathedral8bit published by @EldenPixels
Details in comments #indiegames
@EvilpixiV Oh I have a not totally done tile set for the area, but I haven’t added any tiles in yet cause I’ll probably end up tweaking this area a bit more first
Made a sprite for these fly like enemies. They’re main purpose is to just float around more or less in place so you can bounce off them, so “enemy” is being generous 😅. Name ideas for these guys? #indiegame #indiedev #gamedevelopment #IndieGameDev #sidescroller

Haven’t felt super motivated to work this week or tonight, but I made myself work on something fun. These will go along with tutorial directions on how to use Pixa’s moves. The sketchy style inspired by the tutorial chalk drawings from yoshis island #indiedev #gamedev #digitalart
Haven’t done much work on my game this week, but I started working on this floating blob effect thingy that will be used for something coming up. It almost looks right, but it’s a bit laggy so needs some optimization #indiegames #indiedev #gamedev #sidescroller #indiedevhour
@BrunoBombardi It’s kind of fun to just mess around with and see what looks cool. Here’s an enemy animation I did a while back with that idea
Decided to go with a different style for the leaves on this vine. It’s a little more subtle and I like it. Was also easier to implement since I didn’t have to worry about stems lining up with the body of the vine this way #indiedev #indiegame #gamedev #RetroGaming
