4K scan I did of my latest acquisition - Borgoff Marcus from Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust! Thank you to the lad who parted with him, I can't wait to put him up in my new office soon.
the original for Tokwan is imo a homage to Yas' design of the space pirate in Crusher Joe vol. 2 but I'm also autistic so I HC Tokwan as a space pirate sometimes (2nd cover on the right is by Tasuku Harii aka zigharii)
This film in particular borrows a lot from Yas' work, thus my interest, as it borrows elements from not only Crusher Joe's 1983 film release, but also 0079 Gundam. There are some elements from Koketsu Jeeg, but barely. As you can see, the RX-78 II makes a stance.
Near 4k scan of Space Thunder Kids' US cover. Many don't know that this film is actually not an original, but a compilation of over 8 South Korean animations from the early 1980s til the late 1980s. I always loved the art on this cover and wonder who did it - whoever they are.
Definitely going to be reading Black Lion by Go Nagai as soon as I have the chance. I've become a major a Edo era fan ever since reading/watching Ninpuu Kamui Gaiden among other things, and the artwork of course is so cool from Uncle Go
