Playing with some Zelda 2 inspired sprite designs for my bandit OC. It's interesting how much you have to change character design in order to work with the NES limitations versus just drawing them with no palette or size restrictions.

After spending a while looking at Sonic artwork and thinking about this instead of working on my final paper like I should be, the reason Sonic's arms are tan are pretty clear, it's to make them stand out against his quills, particularly in the classic artstyle. https://t.co/zfwNDSIyCw

I've been thinking about the debate of Sonic's arm color. A lot of people say that the only reason Sonic has tan arms is so that his arm position would be readable in 16 bit graphics. I don't believe that's true and people should treat it as a deliberate character design choice.
