Apparently another one of these> #PortfolioDay is happening and I haven't made anything pretty since the last one, so have a smattering of spaceships new and old.

This is what it looks like normally, as it's actually just a mask, the player chooses the colors in-game.
An example of possible paint schemes for this faction.
Doing this is more fun than it was for SYS since I can be expressive with my strokes, instead of trying to keep everything looking precise.
Might even be able to do multiple randomized schemes for each ship.
Time to show off what's next: Introducting the Predator class galleon.
After seeing the plans for the OSP, I decided I wanted my second faction to get a bit weird, and I wanted to try working with less regular angles overall.

The aforementioned C4 version:
Unfortunately, Nebulous' Beam code is almost as barren as SS' Beam API was a few years ago, so multiple barrels isn't possible.
So this one will just do a little more damage and have a higher rate of fire.

Guess it's done, for now.
Will need another pass to turn it into a proper SS portrait, and the methodology I used would be awful for mass production.
Also you wouldn't believe the amount of ugly saturizing I had to do to get the image to read properly at such a small scale.
As someone who has always struggled, terminally, with color theory, and will probably continue to do so until the day I die.
I really should look into gradient maps the next time I try to paint something.
I hear it's a great way to separate shading and coloring.
Pick colors that aren't going to be a pain in your ass challenge: (Difficulty, impossible)
After a bit of a break, I present: The Lemon class Heavy Cruiser.

My actual feelings on it somewhat affecting the lore:
This is an old ship, oldest in the mod lineup, that was supposed to be everything the Epaulette turned out to be.
