also, as a bonus, here's a couple of Galaxy characters I drew when I was running daily-mario-characters on tumblr! absolutely one of my favourite games of all time

i find myself subconsciously doing it a lot too and i'm aware it's often more up to writing/characterisation issues than it is to fan design choices but it's a weird trend that's pretty noticeable with how people often draw male and female siblings specifically

whenever i try think of fun or dynamic poses to draw characters in my first immediate thought is ALWAYS this particular art of sonic no matter what and i have no idea why. i've never played sonic adventure and i've never drawn a character in the funny sonic pose before
