Previous attempt. Chao are a shading enigma. I have no idea how to do it right. They might as well be biologically made of plastic.
I'm trying to recolor an old character. He's supposed to be an ego-driven idiot joke alien overlord, but I feel like 1 and 3 make him look too legitimately intimidating, while 2 is unique and his OG colors but feels kinda weird. idk
