Really not sure why DC aren’t promoting The Jurassic League better. This is the kind of comic that brings kids into comic shops. So much fun being had here.

At the same time, Quitely delivers these stunning action sequences. He has this capacity to show fluid movement that feels somehow both kinetic & frozen, like a perfectly capture freeze frame. Some artists struggle to capture movement, not Quitely.

... I remember how everyone delighted at the time over Quitely’s sound effects, & they’re still delightful. Gosh, re-reading this was fun, and look at the back page, there’s so much great stuff still to come!

Zatarra is great! Ryan Sook is excellent, really flexing his muscles on those splash pages, but it’s the difference in tone between this and the other books that is making this so impressive. I love the crossover to the issue in Zatarra’s group.

Actually this scene with King Mob’s ex is full of interesting tidbits. She seems a voice of reason trying to reach them through the panels. Is this more critique of the direction our protagonists have taken? Is Morrison second guessing themselves? Or is it all just about karma.

is magnificent. A real example of what comics can do that no other medium can. A lifetime scattered throughout in images, full of emotion, pain, fear, suffering, anger. The dots connected page by page, our assumptions challenged over and over. This is really special stuff.

Frank Quitely is a stone-cold genius ... this cover and page are magnificent. I could stare at them all day.

And another gloriously heartfelt book, made all the more human by the Wonder Frank Quitely. The family drama here is genuinely touching, Offspring fighting for a place in the world as it ends ... wow. Just a great single issue.

Thank you to the exceptionally talented who made tears fall this Christmas Day with her awesome rendering of Sally’s much-loved and much-missed cats Mowgli, Paddy and Purdie, as a D&D team! Best present I ever gave.

Njalla is enchanting, beautiful and almost transcendental (perhaps in both story and execution). A truly magical & bewitching comic lullaby.
