Persona 5 Royal first released in the West on this day in 2020. A continuation of the Persona series tradition of an expanded release, it added many scenes and a couple of major new characters for players to get to know.

Blue Reflection first released today in 2017. Hinako Shirai lives a double life as a regular student and a monster-battling warrior in another world. In Japan it released on PS4 and Vita, while the west got the PS4 version and an exclusive PC port.

Parasite Eve was out today in 1998. Square's first ever Mature-rated game which saw Aya Brea navigate a blend of JRPG and survival horror. It's a sequel to a Japanese novel of the same name.

Pillars of Eternity released today in 2015. An isometric, party-based RPG set in the new fantasy world of Eora, developed as a spiritual successor to the classic Infinity Engine games.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII first released in North America on this day in 2008. A prequel to FFVII told through the eyes of Zack Fair; it remains stranded on the PSP.

Wild Arms 4 first released on this day in 2005. The game featured a very different visual style to previous entries, and the western versions featured several game-breaking bugs that could block progress - and due to certain oversights, attaining 100% completion was impossible!

Tales of Rebirth released for PSP today in 2008. Neither this re-release nor the PS2 game it was based upon were released in the west despite a positive reception in Japan.
