Yeah, there’s such amazing artists out there now. So humbling. What I could have achieved if I learned all that now...? Well, all that matters is that you beautified lives...in this moment.
25 years of animation and I got a kick out of making little emojis.
When designing characters, I find it just as critical to discover what DOESN’T work as what does. Blasting through masses of silhouettes narrows down your design options quickly. And it’s fun to do.
22 years ago today, Quest for Camelot was released in theaters. Most don’t remember this mediocre film, but as a young animator, I was living my dream, happy and gratefull to get a paycheck for drawing. even tho I got the crap shots like this burping rock.
With the new venom movie out, thought I’d show some 2005 drawings when I was a board artist on spidey 3. Credit goes to raimi who had a better original vision of this film than Sony released.
I think every designer out there took a crack at the thunder cats remake including me.
Pushing the exaggeration of this run cycle to break realism and go cartoony. The fewer the looping frames, the higher risk of getting that strobe effect and you pretty much lose any weight. But that’s the trade off.
Hair. My favorite thing to animate. I’m not sure why, but I’m mesmerized by shampoo commercials. This is one of the many hair layers for Suke’s amazing illustration of Star Guardians.
A lot of times, the most creative solutions are found when budget and deadlines tighten. This shot was trimmed down to less than one second to blow up a street corner. (Thank you anime)#osmosisjones
