Gaga described the brunette cover of “The Fame Monster” as the death of her former self in contrast to the new fierce blonde Gaga we’ve come to know on the main LP. “ARTPOP” was about unearthing her past and revitalizing the origins of “Gaga” as a way of celebration and healing.
