@donutfigures @catlateral_ Oh, how silly of me. Of course Japan isn't technologically advanced enough yet to have contact lenses. 😄
Though that hardly matters. Manga and anime often use wild colors for hair/eyes, that doesn't mean their domestic characters aren't Japanese. Look at Lucky Star for instance
@dazaiplush @atelierblanc1 @Sleepy_Lu @catlateral_ Uzaki's proportions are fairly typical of young women in animated films made in the US, even those who aren't meant to be "shortstacks" like she is. It's kind of ugly to accuse Japanese artists of doing something sinister that we do all the time.
@dazaiplush @atelierblanc1 @Sleepy_Lu @catlateral_ Uzaki's proportions according to your own chart are closest to the young adult than the baby, which would actually be not too far off for a very short person. Head ratio is NOT just a matter of age.
Homer demonstrates you don't understand comic/cartoon proportions to begin with.
@Divs_and_Comics @SomeRandoHuman @cosmicbooknews @EthanVanSciver Disney is already fooling around with the idea.
@DuelFreak @undeadscribe For some of them, it may be the bdsm angle that makes it OK. A lot of this sadly is more political/preferential than anatomical.
It's also a bit silly to object to exaggerated boobs when you think three-mile high legs and a kumquat-sized head represent "positivity".
@undeadscribe This subreddit is a hoot. Their aim would seem to be to mock men for getting women out of proportion, but they label stuff like this "positivity". There's nothing wrong with the stylization of course, but the 3-mile legs are no more or less sexist than boobs.
