Made it 1/4 in to @AdultSwimPod ‘s FLCL episode before getting to work. It’ll be ‘The Pillows’ all day today.

This episode introduces Princess Hibana, who just seems to be further proof that Ōkubo is both very horny and very much a bad female character writer. She rules over Dept. 8, and must enforce some weird rules around standing like idiots. #FireForce

This reminded me of an old Chris Rock joke.

Tamaki aside, this episode of #FireForce did have some good humor despite the serious situation Shinra found himself in. Arthur gets in a few solid quips.

Worth noting that despite this line, Arthur follows the order... so I guess Shinra is a beautiful princess in his eyes.

I had hoped the anime would just not make the curse a thing. I guess the “nice” thing is that they didn’t linger on all of Shinra’s accidental groping of Tamaki. But you know what would have been better? Just cutting the whole stupid fucking joke. (#FireForce)

Excited for Episode 3! Fire fighter skills competitions are a real thing and a big deal in the Japanese fire fighter community. Plus what would a shônen series be without a tournament arc! #FireForce

Speaking of #Maki, she gets to shine in the first half of episode 2. She may not have the natural gift of third gen pyrokenetics, but she makes up for any perceived short coming through training and intelligence.

God I hope she doesn’t get sidelined.
