This painting’s strange, visceral beauty heralded a deeper connection with my artistic voice. Ruby pomegranates, twisting mushrooms, lazing snails, and wandering ivy all tangle together in luxuriant decay—THE CULLING depicts a dark and sensuous communion with nature.
