There’s a hashtag artists use to show different styles of their art, and I think I’ve finally branched out enough that I can actually participate. So here it is, my #fourstyles.
I've been working on a drawing for about the past two weeks that is way outside my comfort zone but I really wanted to get it right because the subject is so important to me. I just finished and I'm really quite happy with it. Say hello to my 8-year old daughter!
First attempt at a digital self portrait. Those of you who know me in person will have to say whether it actually looks like me or not (although you probably normally see me a bit less disheveled than this). I have no idea.
Step one of learning how to draw digitally: Attempt to recreate a favorite character using the same techniques with different tools.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little distraction, and I hope you’re all finding your own distractions too. Feel free to take this one on if you want to, and I’ll let you know when I figure out my next one! 7/7
I wasn’t strict about how I used the letters, letting them just be starting shapes, not something I needed to feature. That’s why some letters are somewhat obscured and some are on their side or even upside-down. 6/7
I let them pick the letter (S), and the next day they wanted to pick another letter (F), and before long we had a tradition. They especially liked crossing off the letters as we went (possibly even fought over it a couple times). 4/7
Here they are, all of my alphabet inspiration drawings! To give a little back story, my normal non-pandemic morning schedule involved waking the kids up and then making their lunches while they eat breakfast. 1/7
