World's Finest #colorjam Went for the Warner Bros Store Print vibe for Batman. No idea what I was thinking with Supes. Batman by Bruce Timm, Superman by Jon Bogdanove & Dennis Janke. Colors by me.

@DeanWhiteColor @philhester @LiamRSharp I start with a local color layer. From that, I create the only 2 layers you see - a shadow layer and a highlight layer (just using basic filters/adjustments). I place the shadow layer on top and cut away to reveal the highlight layer underneath. After that, I do my color holds.

I also try to push the contrast between stylization & realism as much as I can, as often as I can. I could have rendered the grass or the flame more realistically but it wouldn't pop. It's also a lot easier to let a K. Webster brush do the work (Winter Stix for the grass, btw)

Something else I rely on a lot is PS's Gradient Map Adjustment Layer. Sometimes I use it a reduced opacity to bring some unity to the colors, other times I use it at 100% in order to simplify the color scheme. Wonderful tool, so many options with it.

As soon as I took the Elektra gig, I went on Amazon and bought some cheap sai because I knew I was going to draw them a lot. Also sculpted a quick Elektra model so I wouldn't have to worry about consistency when drawing her over & over. I just traced the model over & over instead
