Thinking about the faces of these early concepts of Guardians for Halo 5 by Shae Shatz and Gabriel Garza.

Their Guardians resembled that which the Forerunners feared most. Also horrifying to think about how as they used Precursor tech, it's very possible that their creators found a way to manifest through their unethical creations as if to remind them of their inevitable doom.

@Gmingcelestial He's always had them; after he brevet-mutated himself in desperate attempt to become immune to Flood infection, his fangs grew and pierced through his lips. We see him collapse after mutating himself in the Halo 4 Terminals.
Brevet mutations are instantaneous mutations.
