I’ve been looking at that big edition of old Jim Lee X-Men and his artwork there is so exciting. This has all the form and energy of a set of Colorforms, which has seen all that Lee has been able to produce the last 15 years.

At first, I read this weird visual tangent as Poison Ivy picking a chunk of a chocolate bar out of her neck. (from Detective #1000.)

Here’s the opening spread from issue #8. This contains examples of what I both like and dislike about Bennett/Jose’s artwork. The composition is chilling but I wish they would pull back a bit on the detail. Oh, and Paul Mounts also never gets the credit he deserves.
