@DarkCorners3 Watched Winchester, a great looking but ultimately disappointing movie about Sarah Winchester and the Winchester Mystery House. Bonus points for filming some scenes in the actual house. Fun fact I learned from the film: Winchester made roller skates.
Just watched Winchester (2018) a great looking but rather silly movie starring Helen Mirren as Sarah Winchester. I grew up near the house she devoted her life to building and the film does capture the oddness of the place. One thing I learned: Winchester also made roller skates.
@XanaduFitness @StanMichael The Tough Guys Show Their Musical Side is a fascinating if hard to listen to genre.
Happy Valentine’s Day! A love story for you all told in a card and a photo.
@JLH_Collective To be fair, it’s very difficult to see his films. My favorite Chaplin imitator is Billie Ritchie. Or was Chaplin a Ritchie imitator? It’s a real possibility. Sadly, Ritchie’s film career was cut short when he was attacked by an ostrich on set.
Charlie Chaplin’s huge success inspired imitators, the best of whom was Billy West. He spent a decade or so making short films in the Chaplin style before he started developing his own style around 1922. West was so good at imitating Chaplin that even today he is mistaken for him
@JLH_Collective Yes! There are so many great soundtracks from the 60s and 70s. And, as you pointed out in your post, so many movies then had songs. I also collect sheet music and love the idea that these songs were arranged for various instruments. “Hey, kids! It’s family sing-along time.”
@yourewrongabout How about spinach doesn’t have more vitamins than other vegetables and carrots don’t improve your eyesight?
