My 3rd #BLASTSciArt of the day is on my favorite subject “Stress Response”! This one is based on Dr. Alexandra Deaconescu @deaconesculab talk at #BLASTXVI
Super excited to be one of the #SciArtists at #BLASTXVI drawing about the conference talks! Here is my first #BLASTSciArt about “Hardware & Software” in bacterial chemotaxis by Dr. Katja Taute.

2020 has been tough. Living through a pandemic has been tough. Working as a woman in science has been tough.
But... we are still here! We make it work! 🦸🏻♀️ 🦸🏽♀️ 🦸🏾♀️

Hi! You may have seen posts about @STEAM100x35 coming from me. It is our new initiative with @alexcr_1 to highlight Puerto Rican women in STEAM. It aligns with my goal of increasing visibiliy of women in STEM + Art.
Here are my latest #TypesOfScientists created for #STEAM100x35
@PRicansInSTEM Hola! My name is Semarhy & I am from Humacao now living in CA. I’m a bacterial geneicist by training and sciartist by passion. I work for several DEI in STEM programs and make drawings to increase visibily of Women in STEM.
This week was challenging, motivation is low and creativity was hard to find. I still drew 4 new #TypesOfScientists in the #STEAMpunkScientist series to share with you, but they took me longer than usual and I am finding it very hard to produce more.
